ASIM 1340 - Computational Sculpture Credits: 3
An introduction to 3-D modeling, with a focus on modeling and physical object output using sophisticated 3-D software and rapid prototype production using a 3-D printer. For students interested in sculpture, design, architecture, computer science, and biovisualization. Students develop a multidisciplinary skill set and learn to model objects and environments and to apply surface texturing, lighting, rapid prototyping, rigging, and rendering. Includes lectures, field trips, in-class studio time, and assignments. Prerequisite: Meadows student or permission of instructor.
