MATH 3315 - Introduction to Scientific Computing Credits: 3
An elementary survey course that includes techniques for root-finding, interpolation, functional approximation, linear equations, and numerical integration. Special attention is given to MATLAB programming, algorithm implementations, and library codes. Students registering for this course must also register for an associated computer laboratory. Prerequisites: C- or better in MATH 1338 or MATH 1340 , and in CSE 1341 or CSE 1342 . Corequisite: MATH 3304 or MATH 3353. (*updated* 11/30/2017; effective Spring 2018)
