HDCN 6303 - Group Counseling Credits: 3
Examines the dynamics and major approaches to group counseling, with a focus on starting a counseling group, leading groups effectively, and evaluating results. Reviews group processes, leadership, and membership; support and self-help groups, special populations, and ethical issues pertaining to groups; and program planning and development in agencies, schools, higher education, and private practice. Students are expected to arrange and facilitate outside of class a series of group counseling sessions during the term, and to attend their own personal growth group. Prerequisite: HDCN 6301 .
