LAW 6102 - International Regulation of Biotechnology

Introduces modern biotechnology from a regulatory perspective, including the impacts of biotechnology on food production, implications for human dignity, risks for human health, and risks for the environment. Compares the differing regulatory systems from a transatlantic perspective as well as the impact of universal and regional treaties and UNESCO declarations. Includes the international protection of the environment, access to genetic resources, international trade laws, and patents on biotechnological inventions.
