LAW 8248 - How Lawyers See the World: Theories of Legal Interpretation, Justification, and Institutionalization

Credits: 2

General theoretical questions about the nature of law and legal systems, the relationship of law to justice and morality, and the connections between law and the humanities. The question of whether law is an autonomous discipline is an animating theme, and part of our objective is to consider this question from a variety of angles. Philosophical and literary texts and a number of representative cases are used as tools.
