CCPA 3300 - Free Speech and the First Amendment Credits: 3
Examines the philosophy, cases, and issues relevant to the First Amendment right to free expression, with a focus on internal security, obscenity, pornography, slander, and the regulation of communication. Also, the foundations of legal argumentation. Prerequisites: SMU Pre-Major or enrollment in the B.A. in corporate communication and public affairs or B.A. in public relations and strategic communication, or minor in corporate communication and public affairs or law and legal reasoning program; sophomore standing and above, or departmental permission.
