Discusses the evolution of capitalism in the American economy from the Colonial Period to the present. Topics include the evolution of women in the workforce, the economic situation for minorities in America, structural changes and the disappearance of the middle class, the growing income gap between rich and poor, the growth of government, the drift towards socialism, the intense competition among states for jobs and challenges to America’s leadership in the global economy.
