LAW 7242 - MPT Bar Prep Course Credits: 2
The overall goal of this Multistate Performance Test (MPT) course is to teach students how to identify, annotate, and extract relevant information from each type of MPT document: the task memo; cases and statutes, and other authority in the “library,”; and the client/case file. The class also teaches students how to explain the law and effectively compare that law to the facts given, in a clear and well-organized response. With practice, students are able to write substantially above passing answers with confidence. During the course, students are provided with multiple opportunities for hands-on practice including focused drills and activities to increase their skill and comfort level. Finally, students write several complete MPTs under timed conditions that are submitted for grading and feedback. This course is limited to students in their last year before graduation.
