ASPH 3315 - Video Art
Credits: 3
Introduces approaches to making and analyzing experimental video and time-based media. Students learn the fundamentals of film form, video capture, digital editing platforms, and hybrid strategies incorporating analog and digital technologies. Alongside this practical exploration students also analyze and interpret examples of contemporary and historic moving image works. Class time is divided between in-class screenings, discussions, critiques, and technical instructions. Overall, students are encouraged to prioritize experimentation and conceptual development while exploring approaches to video outside traditional narrative or documentary forms. Prerequisite: ASPH 1300 .
