A visual analysis of the rich tapestry of ancient Greek culture, with emphasis on mythological, archaeological, and historical settings in which the art and architecture occur. Touches on various aspects of ancient Greek life such as religious practices, Olympic contests, theatrical performances, and the symposion. The temporal span of the course reaches from the early Iron Age Geometric period through the blending of Greek culture with other cultures in the Mediterranean and Middle East during the Hellenistic period.
