THEA 3383 - Studies in Theatre, Drama and Performance: Festival, Protest and Theatre

Credits: 3

Explores the ways in which the conventions and practices of theatre and performance have informed and shaped events framed as public festivals and protests. Using the disciplines of literary criticism, theatre history, and performance studies, the class uses discussion, lecture, site visits, and student group/solo presentations to explore potential topics both historic and global. Readings and discussions examine the politics, aesthetics, and logistics of included events.
