ECO 4356 - Causal Inference in Economics Credits: 3
Presents a modern approach to answering causal questions in economics. Topics include: concepts of causality, potential outcomes, classical experiments, and tools of causal identification using observational data. Such tools include regression, stratification, matching, weighting, regression discontinuity, differences-in-differences, synthetic controls, and instrumental variables. Application of these methods to diverse topics in economics using statistical software is a large component of this course. Prerequisites: STAT 2331 or STAT 4340 ; ECO 4350 .
