CEE 2140 - Mechanics of Materials Laboratory

Credits: 1

Experiments in mechanics of deformable bodies, to complement CEE 2340 . Simple tension tests on structural materials, simple shear tests on riveted joints, stress and strain measurements, engineering and true stress, engineering and true strain, torsion testing of cylinders, bending of simple supported beams, deflection of simply supported beams, buckling of columns, strain measurements of pressure vessels, Charpy impact tests, and the effect of stress concentrators. Corequisite: CEE 2340 /ME 2340 .
