CHEM 4697 - SMU-UTSW Undergraduate Research Fellowship

Credits: 6

Provides selected students (Fellows) with an opportunity to perform research at the UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences under the guidance of UTSW faculty and an SMU faculty mentor. Fellows conduct this research full time for one semester on the UTSW campus while remaining full-time SMU students. Students are expected to carry out a well-defined research project and make original contributions to their scientific discipline. The SMU faculty mentor assigns the final grade which includes an evaluation from the UTSW faculty member, a mid-term research paper, and a final research poster presentation. Prerequisites: C- or higher in CHEM 1303 , CHEM 1113 , CHEM 1304 , CHEM 1114 , CHEM 3371 , CHEM 3117 , CHEM 3372 , and CHEM 3118 . A minimum overall GPA in the major of 3.25.
