ACCT 6231 - Corporate Controller – Strategic Accounting Leader Credits: 2
Develops in students a comprehensive understanding of the role of the corporate controller as the critical communicator of financial and operating information to the organization’s stakeholders. Students learn how the corporate controller supports and influences critical decision making throughout the organization through analysis and effective communication of financial information. Provides students with the opportunity to develop their analytical skills through case studies requiring them to identify key metrics within financial and operating data to gain valuable strategic insights. Students learn to turn these financial insights into actions and communicate them persuasively by role playing the presentation of financial information to various stakeholders, including department leaders, C-Level leaders, board members, and external stakeholders such as investors/shareholders, auditors, vendors, and customers.
