ECE 7384 - Introduction to Quantum Computing

Credits: 3

Provides a survey of quantum logic and computing; the use of quantum mechanical theory to represent and manipulate information in quantum computers or special-purpose devices. Students gain experience in implementing simple programs using a quantum computer. Prior knowledge of quantum mechanics is not required, any needed quantum mechanical principles are introduced as the course proceeds. Models of quantum logic operators and computing are emphasized while topics in underlying devices will only be briefly surveyed. Prerequisites: Any one of the following with grade of C or better: CS 4381, CS 5385, ECE 5381, ECE 5383, ECE 5385, or consent of instructor.
