LAW 8110 - Advocacy Workshop
Credits: 1
Designed to provide a general introduction to advocacy and is required for students who wish to be considered for involvement with SMU’s travelling advocacy teams. The course includes units on public speaking; communications theory; ethics; and introductions to appellate and trial advocacy, negotiations and mediation, and transactional skills. Students have opportunities to develop the concepts underlying the professional skills being taught through multiple opportunities for performance through participation on an off-campus team or in an on-campus competition.
