STAT 6232 - Strategic and Organizational Leadership in the Age of AI Disruption
Credits: 2
Presents a new methodology to address the challenges of exponential change driven by the latest developments and implementations of Artificial Intelligence. This type of disruptive change requires a new type of strategy development and implementation. The methodology is called “Dreams and Details.” Dreams inspire people to be part of something meaningful and exciting, and details focus attention on the development of new capabilities and then accelerate the transformation of the organization. As a framework for strategy formulation and implementation, Dreams and Details has been conceived and applied by two veteran senior executives in supply chain, technology, and manufacturing industries. The course is primarily experiential with a didactic component. It is taught by professors at SMU and members of Idonea, a consulting firm specializing in leadership and strategy development. The senior executives who developed the framework and the selected guest speakers also participate in selected sessions. Students develop team projects to apply the Dreams and Details framework to specific opportunities and challenges induced by the developments of Artificial Intelligence. Prerequisite: STRA 6201 .
