Integrates academic knowledge with community engagement, providing students a unique opportunity to apply theoretical concepts in real world settings. Through volunteer work in the Dallas community, students develop critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills while fostering cultural competence and civic responsibility. By addressing local issues and collaborating with diverse community partners, students enhance their understanding of social justice, ethics, and interdisciplinary approaches to community development. Prepares students to be informed, ethical, and engaged citizens, equipped to navigate complex societal challenges and contribute positively to their communities. Centers on active, immersive engagement with the local Dallas community through service-learning projects that strategically align with one’s academic focus.
