The Mechanical Engineering Department and the Mathematics Department offer a curriculum that enables a student to obtain both a B.S.M. degree and B.S. with a major in mathematics .
In addition to the University-wide requirements, which include the completion of a minimum of 120 academic credit hours for any degree, the credit hour requirements within this curriculum are distributed as follows:

Mathematics and Science (37 Credit Hours)
Engineering (54 Credit Hours)
Advanced Major Electives (9 Credit Hours)
ME courses, 3000 level or higher, from the thermofluids; dynamics and controls; and solid mechanics, materials, and manufacturing tracks in the B.S. in mechanical engineering degree plan
Engineering Leadership (3 Credit Hours)
One from the following:
Total: 103 Credit Hours
Any deviation from the mechanical engineering curriculum requires approval of a petition submitted by the student to the Mechanical Engineering Department faculty prior to the beginning of the term during which the student expects to complete the requirements for graduation.
