The B.S. degree provides a more rigorous curriculum in social science research and analytic writing, and a solid foundation for graduate study or professional school. Prior to declaring a sociology major, students must complete SOCI 1300 with a grade of C or better. Students must receive at least a C- in all remaining required courses and meet a minimum GPA of 2.000 in all courses counted toward the major. General internship courses (SOCI 4198 , SOCI 4298 , SOCI 4398 ) may only be taken on a pass/fail basis, and will not be counted toward the major.
