Chemistry Minor

Students majoring in other departments may obtain a minor in chemistry. At least two of the advanced courses (i.e. 3000-level and above) must be taken at SMU. CHEM 4397 does not count towards the minor.

Requirements for the Minor
Core Courses (8 Credit Hours)
Courses with a lab must be taken together. Advanced Chemistry Electives (9-12 Credit Hours)
Chosen with adviser’s approval. - Three 3- or 4-hour CHEM courses, at the 3000-level and above.
Total: 17-20 Credit Hours
