Degree Requirements

The minimum credit hour requirement for the M.S. in data science degree is 33.5 credit hours. These credit hours include 30 credit hours of coursework, a 2 credit hour capstone (a two course sequence), and a 1.5 credit hour conference immersion experience. All work attempted for the master’s degree must be completed with an overall GPA of 3.000 or better. A grade of D or F obtained by a student will be calculated in his or her overall GPA, but cannot be applied to his or her degree. A student who fails to achieve a minimum 3.000 GPA may be required to take additional courses to bring his or her GPA to 3.000 or better or may be asked to discontinue study in the program. Note: Students may have additional expenses related to the capstone and campus immersion courses.
