History Minor

Students with a general interest in history may pursue a minor by successfully completing 15 credit hours (five courses) of departmental course credit. A total of nine credit hours (three courses) must be successfully completed at the 3000 level and above. Students may transfer in no more than two of the five courses required for the minor. Only one of the three required advanced courses may be transferred in. Courses for the minor may not be taken pass/fail. All advanced courses (3000 level and above) taken for the minor must be passed with a grade of C- or better. Courses are listed on the History Department homepage.  Students intending to take a minor in the department should design a program of study in consultation with the director of undergraduate studies.

A total of six credit hours (two courses) of Advanced Placement (AP) credit can be applied toward the history minor if the students received a four or higher on AP history exams in European history or American history.
