ASPH 3302 - Film Photography II

Credits: 3

This intermediate-level course is designed to build upon the techniques learned in Film Photography I. Having already gained a basic understanding of film exposure, development, and enlargement, students learn advanced printing and processing techniques as well as analog-digital hybrid tools. Students consider how working through analog processes affects their practice as artists and are exposed to examples, both historical and contemporary, of artists who rely on these processes. Class time is dedicated to creative projects, lab/work time, demos, lectures, field-study, exercises, and reading. Course fees provide students with access to the darkroom and all the chemicals needed to make their work. Students are required to provide their own 35 mm cameras, film, and paper for the course. Prerequisite: ASPH 3300 .
