BILING-MBE - Bilingual Education

Students will understand and apply key practices for developing emergent bilinguals' language and literacy in English and Spanish in the development of their lesson plans.

Students will understand and apply key practices for scaffolding language and developing disciplinary literacy in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies in the development of their content lesson plans.

Students will understand and apply key practices of offering culturally relevant pedagogy and of engaging in the community in order to address the cultural and socio-emotional needs of emergent bilinguals in their planning, teaching, assessment, and communication practices.

Students will understand and be able to communicate key bilingual education theories and practices and their practical implications in addressing the linguistic, academic, and emotional needs of emergent bilinguals.
