Graduates will evaluate and apply financial models and investment strategies related to data center development, including capital projects, real estate financing, and power infrastructure financing. Basic operating costs models with capital payback models will assist to help students balance capex versus OPEX costs on new initiatives.

Graduates will design energy-efficient and scalable data center infrastructures, integrating mechanical and liquid cooling technologies, sustainability principles, and regulatory compliance with a focus on long term tradeoffs between optimizing for IT gear versus optimizing for asset useful life. Scalability design and cooling integration will help sustainable designs that align with regulatory compliance.

Graduates will leverage artificial intelligence and data analytics to optimize datacenter operations, track KPIs, and enhance infrastructure efficiency. AI optimization in datacenter management, data analytics for performance tracking, predictive analytics for probability-based failures, and an introduction to software tools.

Graduates will assess and implement secure network and utility infrastructures, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and addressing risks in intra- and inter-datacenter connectivity with basic knowledge of physical and logical infrastructure. Assessments using vulnerabilities, security controls, and network infrastructure will drive the creation of application standards and ethics.
