By the end of the program, students will demonstrate proficiency in applying Human-Centered Design processes (including design research, problem definition, idea generation, and rapid prototyping) by successfully completing at least two real-world projects in a studio environment with a score of 80% or higher on faculty and industry evaluations.

Upon program completion, students will demonstrate proficiency in 2D and 3D design by successfully completing a series of projects involving ideation, iteration, and critique. At least 90% of students will score 80% or higher on final project assessments that evaluate design principles, research depth, and the application of skills to communication design challenges and 3D form-making.

By the end of the program, students will demonstrate proficiency in applying academically rigorous design research methods—including archival investigation, interviews with subject matter experts, and scholarly writing—by successfully completing at least one major writing project and presentation with a score of 80% or higher on faculty and industry evaluations.

By the end of the capstone course, each student will complete and publicly present an individual design project, including a project plan, prototype, and case study, showcasing their ability to manage the full Human-Centered Design process. The project will be evaluated on the depth of their research, their responsiveness to group feedback, the thoroughness of their prototype, and the quality of their writing. At least 85% of students will achieve a score of 80% or higher on faculty and external stakeholder evaluations of their final presentations and project outcomes.Â
