The Performer’s Diploma (P.D.) in Organ Improvisation is a two-year program for exceptional organists who already hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent conservatory or professional qualifications and who are preparing for a career in performance and spontaneous musical creation. The program emphasizes technical mastery, stylistic fluency, and the refinement of interpretive and creative artistry necessary for improvisation in liturgical, concert, and interdisciplinary contexts. Through mentored study, seminars, and collaborative projects, students cultivate harmonic language, formal structure, thematic development, and real-time compositional techniques. Guided by faculty and guest artists, graduates will emerge as expressive performers prepared for professional careers in concert performance, church music, and related artistic fields, culminating in a public recital of improvisations and repertory that demonstrate stylistic individuality and mastery.
