SPL-BS - Sport Performance Leadership

To apply for admission, students must meet minimum GPA criteria and complete prerequisite requirements before submitting the application for admission. Admission can be competitive due to space availability. The APSM faculty will consider an applicant’s overall SMU GPA and professional behavior in the two subset courses in the admission decision process. Students who are not accepted may reapply for admission during another term. For consideration, students must

• have a minimum 2.3 SMU cumulative GPA for applied physiology and health management and for sport management; and a minimum 2.0 SMU cumulative GPA for sport performance leadership.

• complete a minimum of 30 credit hours (currently enrolled hours may be included).

• complete the two subset courses required for the selected major with a minimum of C- in each course.

  APSM 2340 and an additional 3000-level APSM course taught by a full-time faculty member in APSM.

• Submit a completed general application form for the selected major program.

• Students approved for admission are assigned a Simmons adviser; they may continue to take core courses and/or courses in their concentration of interest.
